The Laurels, Littlebourne Project

The Laurels is a collection of three, four and five-bedroom homes built by Leath Park Developments and designed and dressed internally by LSL. These homes are finished to the highest quality throughout, all of which benefit from en-suite bathrooms, fully integrated Shaker-style kitchens and garages and/or carports. They are perfect new homes for anyone currently in London wanting to escape the big city.

With this in mind, we dressed and designed these homes with a traditional family style in mind. Traditional design always boasts a rich, warm and inviting feel and this particular design style appeals to all ages as it features the familiar. Traditional interior design is elegant and comforting at the same time. Since you’re highlighting the best in design styles all at once, the look will never feel tired or go out of style.

The shaker kitchen and meticulously selected appliances contribute towards the high-end aesthetic throughout, whilst materials such as linen and stripes paired with ornately detailed woods inspired the design further. Layering with different textures and fabrics brings a sense of warmth and comfort to the space whilst still keeping those traditional elements present. The neutral paint colours paired with the textured wallpapers and furniture help to characterise the rooms. Large artwork and accent pieces add a pop of luxury and elegance whilst still creating that serene, calm ambience throughout. Symmetry is key in creating a vibrant somewhat maximal tableau. We have loved using linen plain cushions and juxtaposing them with bold stripes. We avoided geometric shapes or designs, which can feel too sterile for a luxe traditional style such as this.

The village of Littlebourne itself makes the dream of living peacefully a reality, with the joys and convenience of city life still so close. The development is situated in Littlebourne, a beautiful village located just outside of the historic Cathedral City of Canterbury, home to great shopping and leisure options along with plenty of restaurants, bars and hospitality facilities. The area is highly recommended for education with two universities and a selection of excellent primary and secondary schools throughout the City and nearby villages. The Littlebourne School within the village is rated 'Good' by Ofsted and the development is a short distance from the ever-popular Howletts Zoo.
