London-based studio Foster + Partners has unveiled designs for a pair of “ultra-luxury” resi towers in Dubai.
Created for Omniyat, the scheme’s architecture is intended to work “in rhythm” with the nearby Dorchester-branded hotel The Lana, also created by Fosters for the top-end developer. The two new towers, Vela and Vela Viento, have been named after the Latin words for “sails” and “wind”. Both will provide direct access to the waterfront promenade and marina, and the amenities of The Lana, said a statement announcing the project.
The former will stand 150 metres tall, with a floor area of 272,860 square feet over 30 floors. The 38 residences will range in size from 4,253 square feet to 11,727 square feet. The penthouses and three-and four-bed options will have double-height living spaces, large private terraces and L-shaped corner pools.
Two central penthouses will connect the north and the south parts of the building, and up top will be a triplex “Sky Palace” with its own triple-height private terrace.
