Dorri Buchholtz

Dorri has always been intrigued by the body, its form and the stories it tells. Working first in ceramics and wheel throwing, Dorri discovered her true artistic love of sculpture when she ventured into an open studio under the instruction of internationally known sculptor, Martin Dawe. Her love of sculpture rests in the ability to convey the emotion of a moment in time, whether it’s in the loving gaze of a cherished family pet or in the depiction of a woman’s innate warmth and grace combined with her acquired attitude and strength. Her work is ever changing and at times she does not know the direction a piece will take. She allows the work to unfold as she sculpts. Dorri sculpts what she finds intriguing and what brings her joy. The greatest compliment to Dorri is a viewer who feels emotion and a sense of connection to her art. Dorri currently sculpts in water based clay and casts in both composite and bronze.

Currently residing in Atlanta, Georgia, Dorri works directly with private clients and ships to collectors both nationally and internationally. Her work is available through her website and online gallery, dorribuchholtz.com.
