Whilst enjoying a merry Christmas and a happy new year, don’t forget that not everyone is quite so generous during the festive period. Other people will not always have good intentions.
The ‘bad Santas’ see Christmas as a time for rich pickings and will happily unwrap your presents for you.
What can you do to protect yourselves?
It might seem obvious, but don’t forget to lock your windows and doors before heading to bed on Christmas Eve, as Bad Santa prefers the easy option when visiting your home and won’t use the chimney if you’ve left the back door unlocked.
If you’re visiting family or friends over the holiday, Bad Santa will take full advantage of this, so make as much effort as possible to deter the unwanted intruder by investing in security lights that react to motion, or even invest in a “Beware of the dog” sign. Bad Santa doesn’t want to be seen or bitten repeatedly by an emotional Chihuahua.
Think about how attractive your home looks from the outside looking in. If your glorious Christmas tree is visible to Bad Santa looking in through a window, and it’s surrounded by beautifully wrapped presents, close a blind or draw a curtain when you go out.
Don’t let a Bad Santa ruin your Christmas.
We hope you have a lovely, safe festive season.
