With the Academy Awards this Sunday, Abode2 takes a look around some high-design, super luxurious screening rooms perfect for hosting friends to watch all the nominated films and enjoy "the biggest night in Hollywood!". More than just a projector against a wall, these opulent screen rooms go above and beyond what you'd get going to the movies, elevating the viewing experience.
No. 33 Park Row
The first residential project in NYC designed by acclaimed Pritzker Prize-winning architect Richard Rogers and partner Graham Stirk of RSHP (formerly Rogers Stirk Harbour + Partners), No. 33 Park Row is a boutique residential building located across the street from City Hall Park in Downtown Manhattan. No. 33 Park Row builds on RSHP’s other boundary-pushing projects including the Pompidou Centre in Paris and One Hyde Park in London. The boutique scale of No. 33 Park Row opened up the opportunity for RSHP to create an intimate atmosphere that is reminiscent of London’s famous private clubs. The project’s cosy screening room can comfortably accommodate up to 12 people and has a wet bar for serving drinks and snacks. Other amenities at the project include a fifth-floor amenity suite with fitness centre and outdoor yoga studio, a resident lounge with kitchen and dining room, a rooftop garden with entertaining areas and a craft room.

The super plush 16-seat screening room at the project, is a celebration of British craftsmanship and combines British elements with modern accents throughout. A celebration of American craftsmanship, The Cortland represents a unique collaboration between two of the world’s leading architecture practices, Robert A.M. Stern Architects and Olson Kundig. The amenity program is the heart of the residential experience at The Cortland. Designed by Olson Kundig and curated by Related Life, the amenities have all the style and sophistication of a private members club in the city. At The Cortland, a family room with casual seating, games, ping pong and built-in TVs connects to an immersive theatre and screening room. Sliding walls between each room allow them to be combined to form one large gathering space perfect for hosting a party, enjoying a family movie night or an immersive movie alone.
